LL Cool J to Host 9th Annual iHeartRadio Music Awards; Jennifer Lopez, Megan Thee Stallion and Charlie Puth among artists – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

The way to my heart is good music. This may be how iHeartRadio got its name.
Tonight is platform night to shine. They will give music prizes. The show’s host is one of the coolest guys, LL Cool J. Deco got the scoop on the IHeartRadio show before the curtain went up.
The stage is set. Your favorite musicians head to the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles for the 9th Annual iHeartRadio Music Awards.
LL Cool J is the host and says he can’t wait for show time.
LL Cool J: “The look on people’s faces when they’re winning, seeing people backstage as they rush through, get ready, and then it’s just the energy of the audience, because they’re there to have a good time. They are there to have fun.
Unlike its cousin, the Grammys, which have been around for decades, the iHeartRadio Music Awards is a baby, and that’s its appeal.
LL Cool J: “Well, I think, you know, it has a lot to do with, I think, it’s a more recent, more recent awards show, relatively speaking. I think it really speaks…it’s is intergenerational.
Last year, Usher had people standing. This year, expect that and more.
LL Cool J: “The atmosphere is good. It’s all about the people, just the fans.
One of the biggest prizes of the night goes to LL’s “All I Have” co-star J-Lo.
LL Cool J: “I love it, I love it. I think Jennifer absolutely deserves it. She is one of the great artists. »
So who else will be there? Charlie Puth, Avril Lavigne, Silk Sonic. Think of it as a concert with an award show on the side. Megan Thee Stallion, Jason Aldean and John Legend, plus an X-quoting star.
Tom Poleman: “Lil Nas X has been keeping a low profile all year, so this will be one of the first times he returns to the scene. Olivia Rodrigo, one of the greatest artists to emerge on the scene.
John Sykes: “Almost every artist you’ve heard on the radio, seen on TV in the last year, had a hit song will be in this room for the iHeartRadio Music Awards.”
Don’t change channels after Deco, the iHeartRadio Music Awards are next on Channel 7.
