2022 CMT Music Awards nominations: Kane Brown leads, Taylor Swift and Kacey Musgraves get nods

The nominees for the 2022 CMT Music Awards have been announced. Kane Brown, the “One Mississippi” singer, received four nominations, topping the fan-voted field for the 2022 CMT Music Awards, which will be handed out next month. With three nominations each, Kelsea Ballerini, Mickey Guyton and first-time nominees Breland and Cody Johnson follow.
According to Deadline, all five are also nominated for Video of the Year, along with Brandi Carlile, Cole Swindell & Lainey Wilson, Jason Aldean & Carrie Underwood, Luke Combs, Maren Morris, Miranda Lambert and Taylor Swift feat. Chris Stapleton. However, the top candidates in the first round of voting will be revealed on April 4. The final candidates for the second round will be revealed a week later on the day of the show. The final category will be selected by voting on social media and revealed during the live stream. This year’s awards also include a new category: CMT Digital-Debut Performance of the Year, which recognizes performances by artists made for CMT Digital in the previous year.
Interestingly, the awards show, which will air for the first time on CBS, will be hosted by Ballerini and Anthony Mackie. On April 11, the network will air the event live from Nashville.
